Independence Day was celebrated. Principal Col B Ajit Kumar hoisted the
National flag and delivered the Independence Day message. This was followed by
the sweet distribution by Mrs Sreedevi Ajit Kumar to the children of the staff
and the sub-junior cadets of the school followed by high tea in the Mess.
The
School NCC Contingent took part in the Independence Day Parade held at
Central Stadium, Trivandrum. They won the’ Best Non-Police Contingent’
award .The Trophy was presented by Sri VS Achuthanandan, Hon’ble Chief Minister
of Kerala.

Noble Thamburaj SM, ADC, GOC-in-C Southern Army Command visited the School. He
was presented a Guard of Honour by the Class XII cadets and taken on a tour of
the school premises. He also addressed the cadets and staff at the Special
Assembly and donated Rs 50,000 for procurement of LSEase Libsys software for
the school Library.

of Classes IX, XI & XII were taken to view the impressive eqpt display and
special manouvers at the Army Show at Shangummughom, Trivandrum.

The 47th Annual Athletic Meet of the school commenced at
1530hrs. Principal
Col B Ajit Kumar took the salute
and declared the meet open. Col Nandagopan, an
alumnus of the School had the honour of lighting the flame
for the Meet after running a lap round
the track. The next three days saw some keenly contested athletic events.

30 Cadets of Class IX accompanied by two Masters of the Science department
proceeded to attend a Lecture on ‘Learning Science’ .It was a special lecture
by Prof Rao for School students and teachers in the City. Prof Rao is the
Chairman of the Science Advisory Council to the Prime Minister and Honorary
President of the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR).

Two of the Masters of the School attended the Workshop for Teachers, focusing
on Problem Based Learning approach and Active Teaching with the integration of
IT in teaching, conducted by Dr Margaret Waterman, an Educationist from the
Dept of Biology, USA. The workshop was organised by the Trivandrum
International School.

The Closing Ceremony of the Athletic Meet was marked by impressive displays of
Karate and the School Band.
Brig Cherish Mathson SM, Cdr 91 Inf Brigade, an alumnus, presided over
the function, gave away the Medals
and Trophies to the worthy winners and declared the Meet
closed.
Two of the Masters of the school attended the workshop for the Science
Teachers at the Trivandrum International School.
